One Magic Christmas - basically an angel played by Harry Dean Stanton menacing children and mercilessly fucking with Mary Steenburgen for an hour and a half, all because she had to work a double shift on Christmas Eve. Probably Lars Von Trier's favorite Christmas movie.

This was a HUGE piece of my childhood memories of Christmas. I remember getting so excited when I saw HBO was going to be showing it because I knew Christmas was right around the corner.

Even though I get looks from the Mrs. whenever I turn this on, it still can't be beat.

My wife wanted to add this one into our tradition this year. I'd never seen it before. I was passed out, snoring in 25 minutes. that movie's completely unwatchable.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Started our Christmas movie watching last night by watching Die Hard

Watching Remember the Night right now. Pretty good so far. Barbara Stanwyck's performance is breaking my heart.

Die Hard is not a Christmas movie. Just because a movie takes place around Christmas doesn't mean it's a Christmas movie.

I think Die Hard is a valid Christmas movie.

For some reason I always have a strong desire to watch The Silence of the Lambs around Christmas time. I have no idea why.

I also started my Christmas viewing with Die Hard.

In the ABNorman family household:

Christmas Eve - Home Alone
23 Dec - Nightmare Before Christmas

Everything else is fair game. I've got about 30 or so Christmas movies, and a bunch of TV specials, so we've got a lot of choice. Scrooged, Elf and Christmas Vacation generally get a look in.

My usual Christmas rotation:
-Die Hard
-The Nightmare Before Christmas
-Jingle All the Way
-Home Alone
-Home Alone 2
-It's a Wonderful Life
-How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (2000)
-Elf
-A bunch of the classic animated specials

And since I just saw it earlier this year and really liked it, I'm sure Scrooged will be added to this list now.
