Honestly, aside from sports games (I used to play Madden and NHL all the time), probably non-complex single-player games that don't require me to spend 2 hours a night to get to the next level. I'm not sure if that helps though.Monkey_Driven wrote:What kind of games are you interested in?Chris_H_2 wrote:Are there any non-kids' games that are worth getting for Wii U? Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed: Black Flag were pretty good. I'm not sure about the Wii U's version of Watch Dogs but that was an enjoyable game. Shovel Knight is an excellent, old school 2D downloadable game.

Aside from the above here some more games I would check out (some may be "kiddie" but they're still very solid games).Chris_H_2 wrote:Honestly, aside from sports games (I used to play Madden and NHL all the time), probably non-complex single-player games that don't require me to spend 2 hours a night to get to the next level. Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
Bayonetta II (action game, rated mature)
Zelda: Wind Waker HD
NES Remix Pack
Rayman Legends (a personal favorite)
Batman: Arkham Origins and Batman: Arkham City
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Mass Effect 3 (kind of complicated, but very fun)

Awesome. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll definitely check some of those out.Monkey_Driven wrote:Aside from the above here some more games I would check out (some may be "kiddie" but they're still very solid games).Chris_H_2 wrote:Honestly, aside from sports games (I used to play Madden and NHL all the time), probably non-complex single-player games that don't require me to spend 2 hours a night to get to the next level. As expected, the first episode of Telltale's Game of Thrones was awesome. Really awesome. Telltale is easily my favorite developer out there right now. They can do no wrong.

Have they fixed their game engine to where you don't have the random glitches of framerate hitches? Pretty distracting on old gen (PS3, 360).LoathedVermin72 wrote:As expected, the first episode of Telltale's Game of Thrones was awesome. Really awesome. It's definitely improved, though is not entirely absent, in Tales from the Borderlands and Game of Thrones. I didn't really notice it at all in the former, and only noticed it a little bit during some of the times when the game was auto-saving in the latter. Nothing super annoying.Monkey_Driven wrote:Have they fixed their game engine to where you don't have the random glitches of framerate hitches? Good to hear. Their storytelling and characters have been so strong since Walking Dead Season One but those glitches really took me out of the story. I'm excited to play the GOT series but I will wait until more chapters are released.LoathedVermin72 wrote:It's definitely improved, though is not entirely absent, in Tales from the Borderlands and Game of Thrones. Ranking time.
1. The Walking Dead: Season 1
2. Tales from the Borderlands: Season 1
3. The Walking Dead: Season 2
4. Game of Thrones: Season 1
5. The Wolf Among Us: Season 1
The placements for the currently-running series are speculation based on the pilots, and I could be way off. We'll see. In any case, they are all pretty spectacular.

Yes, they were. In fact, I would say those particular episodes are the best thing Telltale has done to date.CopperTom wrote:Chapters 2 & 3 from TWD Season 2 were great.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Ranking time.

Has anyone played Telltale's Back to the Future or Jurassic Park? I never even gave them a look, but now I'm curious...

Stay away. Jurassic Park in particular was not good at all from what I've heard.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Has anyone played Telltale's Back to the Future or Jurassic Park? I never even gave them a look, but now I'm curious...

Re: The all inclusive video game thread
I finished The Walking Dead Season 2 today. Chapter 5 was busy. Very hectic finish. I thought the story / flow was better than Season 1, but the characters were much less likable. I didn't feel invested in any of them too much. I look forward to Season 3.

I was REALLY into that game like a year/year and a half ago.turned2black wrote:The Simpsons Tapped Out is fun. The gameplay is pretty standard, but it's the little details that make it great.
