I thought he has a much worse 2014 than he actually did.philpritchard wrote:Is there a joke in here that I'm missing?cutuphalfdead wrote:We'd still need an ace.numbers wrote:Strasburg to the Sox, calling it now.

I think a lot of people have the impression Strasburg has been a disappointment because if the expectations, but he's been really, really good.cutuphalfdead wrote:I thought he has a much worse 2014 than he actually did.philpritchard wrote:Is there a joke in here that I'm missing?cutuphalfdead wrote:We'd still need an ace.numbers wrote:Strasburg to the Sox, calling it now.

It sure did. And apparently Detroit is acquiring a pitcher from Cincinnati. I can't keep up anymore! The Argonaut wrote:Cespedes for Porcello, Boston-Detroit. Lester's signing really set things in motion.

Re: MLB
He's a great fit for Boston, but he's only got one year remaining... all they need to do is give him a bit of time to settle in in Boston, then maybe they can make him a low-ball offer and he'll take the hometown discount.cutuphalfdead wrote:Porcello is exactly who I wanted for cespedes.

Re: MLB
So Porcello/Masterson/Miley/Buchholz/Kelly?
That seems like a reasonable but unspectacular top 5.

A bunch of ok guys? No one that can be counted on. I mean, I'm not impressed. This was their master plan? 25 number 3 starters?philpritchard wrote:So Porcello/Masterson/Miley/Buchholz/Kelly?

Re: MLB
Having a well-defined 1-2-3-4-5 rotation only really helps when you get to the playoffs. In order to get there, having a 3-3-3-3-3 can be just as effective.numbers wrote:A bunch of ok guys? That wouldn't surprise me at all. There's still lots of offseason left.numbers wrote:Unless the plan is to put one of these guys in another trade.

Or you could just start 1 Bumgarner.

Re: MLB
I'll think you'll have to settle for picking up Porcello and Miley in on day. I can't imagine them signing Scherzer now.
