I think a lot of people have the impression Strasburg has been a disappointment because if the expectations, but he's been really, really good.

It sure did. And apparently Detroit is acquiring a pitcher from Cincinnati. I can't keep up anymore!

He's a great fit for Boston, but he's only got one year remaining... all they need to do is give him a bit of time to settle in in Boston, then maybe they can make him a low-ball offer and he'll take the hometown discount.

I'll tell you what, the Red Sox are going to have to offer Porcello more money for him to stay than what they initially offered Lester last spring.

So Porcello/Masterson/Miley/Buchholz/Kelly?

That seems like a reasonable but unspectacular top 5.

A bunch of ok guys? No one that can be counted on. I mean, I'm not impressed. This was their master plan? 25 number 3 starters?

Having a well-defined 1-2-3-4-5 rotation only really helps when you get to the playoffs. In order to get there, having a 3-3-3-3-3 can be just as effective.

That wouldn't surprise me at all. There's still lots of offseason left.

Or you could just start 1 Bumgarner.

I'll think you'll have to settle for picking up Porcello and Miley in on day. I can't imagine them signing Scherzer now.
