Going to a midnight showing of this..
I'm excited enough to go to a midnight showing but i've probably never been this prepared to be disappointed by a film involving a world and series of characters i've long cared about, ever..

i'll be back later, either ranting or raving..

I dont have anything whatsoever to say in an at least constructive manner, about this film.

apart from never see it.

it was awful.

I will have to vent my spleen tomorrow.

There is only one moment worth seeing this movie for, and it's at the very very end and it's either less awful or more awful than the rest of it, for pulling at your heartstrings for trying to tie things up to the LOTR films. By the time this scene rolls around you will have either left the theater or stayed, only to be given a hamfisted 'sequel!' section that would make you feel physically ill if it weren't for the blatantly obvious reprise/pre-prise? prelude? of the music from the opening scenes of the Fellowship..

Gah! im ranting already...just do not ever see it, it is beyond awful..

and i don't hate it out of any hardcore fanboi thing..it's a woeful hamfisted whatever the extreme opposite of classy subtle piece of filmmaking, is.

Like Die Hard:Pointless..on coke and speed all weekend not havin slept and really ugly as a result.

atrocious.. and the moments where it does beat you over the head cos this is the part where you're supposed to get the feels, are the main offenders. They lost sight of the goalline in that area, and that area is somewhere they at least scored consistently in the LOTR films.

by the way, at not two but THREE different moments, the audience I was in laughed out loud at the shambles..none of the three moments were designed to make you laugh, they were just embarrassingly bad...

I have tried, and failed, to watch the 2nd Hobbit film 3 times now. It somehow manages to be equal parts bloated and shallow.

There was almost not enough going on in the last film yet this one has too much going on and not nearly enough time spent doing it properly. Trying to be well paced but ends up being Slapdash

Can't wait until someone edits these things down to one 2 hour movie.

I couldn't even pretend to get excited for the first Hobbit movie after how bad the final LotR movie was. But I finally watched it once it was out of theaters and it was so, so, SO terribly bad that I chose to completely ignore any further installments.

But I'm bummed for dime.

This will be the first one of these movies that I don't have to see at all, so I'm pretty pumped for it to come out.
