In my opinion (not that you asked) I think she was a vile human being and her death doesn't change that. I'm not sure why we have to be respectful of someone who was so disrespectful of others while she was alive. I'll not celebrate anyone dying though.

Great Post....she was a really lousy human being with no respect whatsoever for anyone...and i dont think she made good things for the brits either...i wont celebrate anything because i have better things to do than remember this old bitch, but fuck it, she deserves to rot in hell.

I'm legitimately curious about why you feel comfortable passing judgement on any particular economic system or policy or institutional arrangement - whether it relates to the Thatcher government or not - when your particular areas of expertise reside elsewhere.

She had the gall to end subsidies for coal miners whose jobs would've been destroyed in a few years time by environmentalists regardless. Thats about all I know about her. I was unaware of that Nelson Mandela bit but as I previously stated, its more of an issue with the definition of terrorism than with acts associated with Nelson Mandela.

You're one of my favorites here, so this isn't a troll or an attempt to elicit a reaction or anything.

What evidence would you accept that would make you change your mind about capitalism?

My 'particular area of expertise lies elsewhere' so I can't have a political opinion? I'm pretty sure I have areas of expertise, and just opinions and standpoints, that I've left off RM. I believe in a welfare state, so in essence I would probably be a Welfare State capitalist.

To be honest, though, to find 'Margaret Thatcher on Socialism' funny requires nothing other than to know that Margaret Thatcher was a Conservative, far from a Socialist / Leftist. I don't need any special expertise to know that.

In short, weird criticism.
