Looks like St Vincent has been named album of the year by (at least) The Guardian, The Sunday UK Times, Gigwise, NPR Music, and NME. Also called one of the best of the year by UNCUT, MOJO, Q, The Telegraph and Paste.

But somehow... it getting #4 at Rolling Stone invalidates all of it

That's silly. You should listen to Strange Mercy as soon as possible.

my only fear is that by the time i become a fully immersed st. vincent fan, you will have already posted every single st. vincent gif on the internet in this thread, leaving me bereft of my treasured gif agency

Martinis, Paris, Annie Clark, acoustic guitar, Rogers & Hart. These are a few of my favorite things.

I'm sure I'm the only one watching this shit I'm posting in here all the time. But whatever. Here's a great (short) little clip of Annie playing Crossing Brooklyn Fiery @ BAM in Brooklyn. BAM is one of my all time favorite places in NYC. I've worked in their box office and I try to see as much as I can there. It's where I saw Jeff Mangum, and where I saw David Lynch. Anyway... great spaces at BAM. This quick vid showcases her kinetic stage talents as well as her fucking supernatural guitar ability. Goddess, she.

Oh, also, some guys from The National are in it.

It isn't worship. Just raw appreciation and admiration for an extremely gifted musician and performer who moves me deeply.
