Deadspin: Where they take the homoerotic undertones of sports and max them out to the best of their abilities.

Seriously though, I feel like every Deadspin story that I've ever come across on message boards/social media is dudes talking about a dick or a dude's butt or something of that ilk.

I don't think I know Barstool Sports. But isn't Deadspin the one who always runs the article whenever somebody releases dick pic they got from an athlete? They were behind the Paul George and Brett Favre penis stories, right?

Speaking to the Denver Post after the game, defensive tackle Terrance Knighton guaranteed the Broncos would win the Super Bowl—even if they have to go through New England to get there.

“I don’t care if New England doesn’t lose again,” he said. “I don’t care where we have to play. I don’t care who our opponent is. We’re not going to be satisfied until we hoist that trophy. So if we’ve got to go to New England (in the playoffs) and win somewhere we’re not used to winning, we’re going to make it happen.”
That's what counts as a guarantee these days?

Yeah, it wasn't all that strong, but good for bulletin board material.

Dude, he's totally trolling you guys:
Trolling or not, Belichick will use this for motivation. And FYI...I am on Twitter and feel zero offense from his comments. I just like it when opposing teams create the appearance of a slight.

This is a serious question: does Belichick even do this to a great extent? The Patriots have been perennially good enough that they don't really need motivation to win, and Belichick seems to take emotion out of doing their job of winning games more than any other coach.

If you are up early on Sundays and ever have a chance to listen to Rodney Harrison on the NBC Sports Radio syndicated NFL Preview program, he reveals a lot about Belichick. Belichick absolutely will take a slight jab from an opposing team and use it as motivation. Players also do this, too, and Harrison did this on a regular basis when playing for the Pats.

Belichick also uses fun stuff, too. To encourage his players to "block out the noise," he recently held up the Gronk ESPN photos (with the kitten) and cited it as an example of what not to talk about. Media reports were that it drew some big laughs, but it was straight up back to business after that.

I avoid both sites, so what I see from them consists entirely of what other people post from them.

Either way, how is ass getting eaten in a parking lot a story that justifies being printed in any sort of medium?

Deadspin is kinda trashy at times. But I think they do some important work in challenging the traditional outlets when it comes to sports journalism. Unfortunately, ESPN, FOX, etc all rely so much on airing the leagues, that they never really take them to task. I loved that Deadspin got a hall of fame vote and let the fans cast a ballot.

This. They're doing a great job of calling out the hypocritical sycophant Peter King for his refusal to follow up on the NFL giving him false information about Rice's testimony to Roger Goodell.

Also, they broke the Manti Te'o girlfriend story last year when everyone else burried their heads in the sand.

I agree with all you, and I'd apply this to the entire Gawker network, to think about it.

I guess I just don't understand how seeing a headline about ass getting eaten at a Lions game would make someone think "Oh man, I've got to click that!"
