Great pick with "Miles Smiles" -- maybe the best album from my favorite period of Miles's career.

I always toggle back and forth between Aenima and Lateralus. Both so great. If re-wrote my list next week, I might put Aenima over Lateralus.stip wrote:1-3 are pretty set in stone. Honestly everything that follows could be in almost any order, and probably is.

It is def a fun one. That was my first Miles record (after Kind of Blue) and that really opened it up for me.Kevin Davis wrote:Great pick with "Miles Smiles" -- maybe the best album from my favorite period of Miles's career.

Paul Westerberg: Stereo/Mono
BRMC: Howl
Black Keys: Rubber Factory
War on Drugs: Lost in a Dream
Black Crowes: Amorica
Dylan: Highway 61, Blood on the Tracks
Hold Steady: Boys and Girls in America
Queens of the Stone Age: Like Clockwork...

These are all on my next 25 after 25 list, though YHF and Sea Change should probably be there. Too much good music in the world!zeb wrote: Queens of the Stone Age - Songs For The Deaf

Interesting Strummer choice. I always preferred Global A Go-Go.theplatypus wrote:Rock Art & the X-Ray Style - Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros

Re: Top 25 Favorite Albums of All Time
I like Global a Go Go a lot, but it's a bit too sprawling and genre-exercise-y. X Ray Style has a bunch of songs I love to death, that are as powerful as they are unassuming and sincere-- like "Willesden to Cricklewood", "Nitcomb", and the gorgeous title track. I also listened to that album incessantly during my first year of college, and as a result it's much more ingrained in my memory than any other Strummer or Clash album.

Great idea, dct -- I have been looking for a place to keep this list for a while, where I know I won't lose it. This way I can just pull it up on my mobile device when the time comes:durdencommatyler wrote:I just need a place to put this list for future reference. Don't mind me.
