This statement might be a bit over the top. How many album purchases will they lose b/c they sold expensive dog collars on their website?
I don't think it's as straight-forward as that, it's more that it's one more thing contributing to the general disillusionment with the band and their decision making.
I'm not terribly outraged over the collar itself. I do think it's ridiculous, but it's more the sheer volume and variety of expensive Pearl Jam merchandise that I find off-putting rather than one particular example.

Exactly. It's like KISS, only everyone's dead serious.
Well yeah it is an exaggeration but money isn't made by album sales either. And with this latest round of merch, money is obviously a driving factor. No one needs a fucking PJ dog collar. I also have a feeling that I won't renew my membership this year either and this is definitely a part of that.

I think if people were going to leave b/c of a disillusionment with the band, they left a long time ago. Everyone that's left just pretends to be disillusioned, but still buys albums.
They can put out all the comical stuff they want, but I'm still gonna buy things that I like.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

I agree with you but it's just that's there's no reason I can see, other than greed for Pearl Jam to be doing this. Really, a Mother Love Bone dog collar? That is so beneath the band they started out as. It just shits all over my memories of what they were.
I'd honestly be more onside with an Alive guy coffin than a MLB dog collar.
Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.

Maybe Chris Cornell has more integrity than Pearl Jam at this point.
Whoa there fella. Things haven't got that bad just yet.

He made a bad album, big deal. Get over it.. He took a huge risk and it didn't pay off. We don't shit all over an actor's integrity for making a bad movie and can't see why we do with bands.
