Re: The Work-Out Thread
I've unintentionally been slack the past week & have not been to the gym. I can already feel a difference. I'm going out of town for the weekend so it will be next week before I get back on track, only to be interrupted by Christmas & New Year's weeks. In way it's going to be like starting over in January, only with all the resolutioners.

Re: The Work-Out Thread
I hate the gym for the first two or three weeks of January. Overcrowded, people who have no idea what they're doing and annoying. If I wanted that I'd be at work or the mall.Biff Pocoroba wrote:In way it's going to be like starting over in January, only with all the resolutioners.
Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.

been skating and playing some hockey which has been nice, because ever since it got cold I haven't been getting any cardio. It was pretty satisfying because I never had a slap-shot, and it finally started coming together today.

Re: The Work-Out Thread
Got about 45 minutes of weight work in last night. Not a particularly good set but better than nothing. Between the rain and it being the night before the night before Christmas there might have been ten people on the floor.

Re: The Work-Out Thread
Went to the gym & got in a decent workout. I've been good about my weight work over the holidays, probably can bump up a little actually. I did a mile on the treadmill and could tell I've been slack on the cardio.
My next trip will be Saturday morning; it'll be interesting to see how packed out the place will be.

Re: The Work-Out Thread
Got my first workout of the year in this morning. I was expecting the gym to be more crowded than it was; decent crowd but not packed out. Maybe the wave will hit Monday? But I did good; little over an hour weights plus 1.8 miles on the treadmill. I'm going out of town for a few days after MLK day but if I do a steady routine like I did today up until then I'll be happy.

Re: The Work-Out Thread
So far the gym hasn't been too busy - guess there weren't a bunch of New Years resolution beginners.
What has started to piss me off though is people wearing douche tops to the gym. Yesterday - there was the guy wearing his 'Ripped Freak' top someone else wearing a 'Your workout is my warm up' top. I just want to punch them so hard

I have a bit of a gut, but I noticed my arms looked less toned after not working out for a while which inspired that comment.tommymtcom wrote:Where does your flab tend to accumulate?Dev wrote:I hurt my shoulder working out. My BMI is healthy.

Re: The Work-Out Thread
Back at the gym last night. Still pretty packed out; the crowd will start thinning out once the weather starts warming and people have other things to do. I haven't been particularly motivated of late, did a mile on the treadmill and 45 minutes of weights and I was ready to go.

Re: The Work-Out Thread
I've been hitting the gym in the late evening and it's just been amazing. No douche bags and I don't have to battle the middle aged female walkers for a treadmill. I would highly recommend joining a 24/7 gym.

Saturday mornings are usually my best workouts of the week. Totally slept in this morning though.
