I still love this performance, but the studio version sounds so neutered in comparison. I can't say anything very positive about the album either.

That's great. They're really well-matched.

Also, this was one of the greatest moments of my life. Seeing Paul McCartney perform on the marquee of the Sullivan was glorious. Just fucking amazing.

I highly recommend the album Love This Giant. It's fucking absurd good.

Yeah, I agree to an extent. I like the album and the band, but it and they simply do not do Sam Herring justice. The band either needs to become more sonically unique and forceful or Herring would do best to just go solo. The guy is a superstar waiting to happen.

Yeah, I love the album. Did they record more live performances?

One of my all-time favorite things Byrne has ever done is his episode of Sessions at West 54th. This reminded me of that, except the Love This Giant songs are considerably more enjoyable (and as of right now, a lot less dated) than the kooky 90s electro-pop he was attempting at the time. He's really fun to watch.

I'm really not sure. I should look into that.

I know this is from last page and we've moved on, but people saying "that...that's not dancing" about St Vincent's performance sounds a lot like angry old white dudes saying "that...that's not music!" about rap.

can you complain about dancing and then immediately post a Future Islands video? I mean, is that allowed?

THough it doesn't get any whiter than St. Vincent. Is she a vampire? I read a rumor somewhere that she was in fact a vampire.

I miss this Eddie. The stage presence, voice, genuine/yet understated intensity.
