Moline (NoCode) & Milwaukee (Yield)

Post by driftins »

Hi guys,

I dont know if it's allready been discussed, but as soon as i saw No Code and Yield being played in full live i recalled that the special extended 20yo reissues stoped at Vitalogy, so it's very likely that in the next years (or this year) we'll see special reissues of No Code and Yield with special DVD's of CD's of these live performances of the albums.

Of course this would mean that this live performances were really planned in advance, and that's a surprise for me, they're thinking so much ahead of time and doing something like this.

What do you guys think of this?

It's certainly possible, although I've been assuming that these were just neat ideas for shows.

This was posited before -- I think the consensus was that, were that the case, they probably wouldn't have released the bootlegs so hastily. I think fans would be more annoyed by it than excited.

If they reissue No Code and Yield, I certainly hope they do not include Moline and Milwaukee as part of the package. I'd be kinda pissed if we didn't get a top quality show with Jack behind the kit.

agreed.

i don't think the intent was to release these sets with any reissues, but i think it was the band's way of hinting that these albums are on their minds and reissues could be coming soon.

Whatever pisses off fans the most ... that's what they'll do.

We will see a thirtieth anniversary edition of Ten before we see a No Code or Yield reissue.

Of all the remaster/reissue/legacy editions I'm looking forward the most to No Code/Yield, aka the Jack Irons box! I would be nice if we get a bit more outtakes this time around. A studio recording for 'falling down', 'leatherman II',....

And a good Jack Irons 98 show, like this one:

I'm pretty confident that if they move forward with these boxes, that Vs./Vitalogy will be the only box with two albums. All the press around that box indicated that they were drawn from the same ... I don't know ... creative sessions? ... demos? ... something like that.

Also, for what it's worth, when the call in show still existed, Tim B. indicated that the band had every intention of continuing the boxed sets.

I still think these shows will eventually be a part of something based on Ed's comment when they screwed up Mankind (something along the lines of "they can cut it").

I wonder if they had initially intended to release them as part of the reissues, but when fans immediately jumped to that conclusion themselves and subsequently expressed their widespread dislike for the idea, they decided to just release them as regular bootlegs.

There's no way these were ever going to be part of the reissues. Those are supposed to be a little box of history. I know there have been some grumbles about these boxes, but there's no way they'd screw with fans like that.
