Wasn't the author the guy who's estate Jessie Ventura successfully sued for libel regarding a purported bar fight? If its the same person, Ventura prevailed after the guy died after getting shot at a range event for veterans or some such. Apparently Ventura had a case, but suing the dead seems a bit untoward. This is, of course assuming I am vaguely correct.

untoward? who cares? I'd sue him into the next life, too. He won the suit, and defamation is difficult to win. She is appealing.simple schoolboy wrote:Wasn't the author the guy who's estate Jessie Ventura successfully sued for libel regarding a purported bar fight? Anyway, that isn't the only thing he's lied about allegedly.

I think hardcore conservatives are now just rallying with this film against hollywood libs or something. This guy thought all iraq's were worthy of destruction or something? I wanted to see the movie but now it just seems like a spectacle. maybe when its on tv.

The fake baby used throughout this thing is awesome - just placed in there, no real attempt to make it appear real. It reminded me of one of those dolls that you learn CPR on

Re: Movie: American Sniper (01-16-15)
the movie is just slightly better than the book, although that is not hard to accomplish. so relatively speaking it still sucked.
it was choppy, and no real story line was developed except for his perceived struggle with whether to go to war or not - just like the book.
agree, the fake baby is just ridiculous. also too many Hollywood moments - the call from the roof, the wedding scene/call to war, etc
Cooper was good, I will agree. But this is no where near best picture worthy.

Re: Movie: American Sniper (01-16-15)
how would one rank this movie on a scale of 1 to 2 (measuring level of troop support), with 1 corresponding to hatred of the troops and 2 corresponding to healthy american support of anything and everything troop-related?
