Some could say they are great. Have beaten a lot of solid west teams in the last few weeks.
I'm really hoping they turn out to be a regular season team who can't get it done when the playoffs start, because they scare me.

Really don't like the Bosh to PHX rumor. I'm assuming they'd have to give up Thomas to get him. The 3 PG experiment is starting to work itself out after an early rash of injuries.

I have a feeling Gasol, Noah, and Gibson would beat them in a 7 game series.

Generally speaking, they've never made it past the 2nd round so there's that. But there's significant evidence that they are being competently run now by Budenholzer and somewhere in the ether Danny Ferry so maybe they are really good.

They are certainly fun to watch, so I will be hoping they go far in the playoffs.

Gasol has been a great pickup but he's 34 and is bound to regress to the mean a little. Lost amidst all the Derrick Rose scrutiny is the fact that Noah has been total ass this year. Whether its the offseason knee surgery that nobody seems to know exact details about, playing out of position chasing stretch 4's or just straight up getting older I don't know, but the Bulls offense has almost always looked the best this year with some combo not involving the Noah/Pau twin tower lineup. Taj is solid but he's getting crunched for minutes, especially with Niko coming on a bit.

What you hope for as an opponent of the Hawks is that once the defensive intensity ticks up in the playoffs, they lose some scoring ability as there is no shot creator on that team. Also, speaking as a Bulls fan Kyle Korver (who I love) isn't going to get off like he does in the regular season during a tough playoff series. The Hawks remind me of the 11 Bulls really....

I actually like this move if they don't give up too much. Thomas was always a bit of a weird acquisition by the Suns for me. Bosh/Morris/Tucker/Dragic/Bledsoe. Can Ennis play enough to spell at PG?

They do seem to be generating a slight buzz around town at the very least. The only times in recent history I can remember anyone local talking about the Hawks were when they pushed the Celtics & Pacers in the playoffs.

Their promotions department is ridiculously talented. They've had virtually nothing to work with for so long, then they come up with Tinder night etc. They do a good job getting butts in the seats.

It's believable I guess for once which makes it much different from other times or other teams in town. That said, I'm a little nervous about the sale of the team, though it's going to be great to get away from the Atlanta Spirit Group once and for all.

I've heard several radio interviews with CEO Steve Koonin & he has impressed me every single time. And I agree, the Atlanta Spirit Group was a horrible experience through & through. They were the reason we lost the Thrashers.

28-8 now I think. Danny Ferry and Budenholzer knew what they were doing I guess.
