For the uninitiated, here's an introduction with a cut from each of their main albums:

I listened to it the other night and liked some of it. Other parts almost gave me a headache. To be fair, I wasn't really in the right mood for an album like that. I'll try again some other time.Brett wrote:Yes Mike, Spirit is the most widely acclaimed of their early work, and for good reason. It's true that there are some real WTF? aspects to their music. A lot of the more freeform noise stuff that was more common early in their career can certainly be a turnoff, but usually I'll just regard it as background sound if I'm not in the mood, rather than be outright annoyed by it.Mike wrote:I listened to it the other night and liked some of it. Right now Strawberry Jam is spinning and I love every second of it. Fireworks never fails to put me in a good and somewhat hyper mood. When that album works for me, it works really really well. That's the Animal Collective experience for me I guess. Sometimes they annoy the crap out of me, sometimes I love them so so much. Definitely not something for every mood.

Possibly. I think you'd like the majestic vocals more than anything else. It just sort of unfolds and flows on headphones. Good winter music. Noah Lennox truly has a fantastic voice.cutuphalfdead wrote:Oh yeah?surface the north wrote:Heard a track from Panda Bear's upcoming album that might be more your speed.cutuphalfdead wrote:Never was able to get into this.
