It'll be tough not to open it straight away. But I think I'm gonna wait a few days at least. After that, it's a conversation piece only. Very VERY few people will get to sip it outside of me and my wife.

Anyone know of any ported Bourbons to try outside of Angels Envy?
I know of Big Bottom from Oregon I think but I don't know of others.
I really enjoy Angels Envy.

Re: Whisky, Whiskey, Scotch, Bourbon
I enjoy a good bourbon when I have some poured for me but I never remember what I had. Any suggestions for a good bottle to have in the house without breaking the bank? I don't have a clue what to buy.

Buffalo Trace, Bulleit, 1792 (Ridgemont Reserve), Jeffersons, Elijah Craig (used to be it's pricier now)
All of those are around 20 -24 bucks where I come from and are good tasty bourbons. Elijah Craig is about 30 something now.
Makers Mark and Jim Beam black are pretty good too.
Lately, I've been a really big fan of Buffalo Trace and Jefferson's.

I thought damp wood and burning were the only two whiskey flavors.

Re: Whisky, Whiskey, Scotch, Bourbon
Well, I grabbed a bottle of Buffalo Trace for no other reason than I live in Buffalo and it seemed like a good place to start. My Dad's coming to town to meet his new Grandson so we'll toast him with some bourbon.doug rr wrote:its a good list and I'd like to add the bulleit rye to that list..I enjoy it more than the other bulleitvegman wrote:Cool, thanks.Electromatic wrote:vegman wrote:I enjoy a good bourbon when I have some poured for me but I never remember what I had.
