the guests aren't always particularly interesting though...i know you're talking about interviews exclusively, but almost half the show is guest-less so the host needs to be the main source of entertainment overall

Eh, but that doesn't happen THAT often. I think any late night show with a host that isn't funny or compelling has a pretty big hurdle to overcome. It's certainly better than it used to be, though.

I probably catch 20 minutes of the show a month. Seems like a good guy having fun.
