I raise you New England's 14 division titles since 1994, the most for any NFL team during that period, with Brady claiming 12 of those.Lament wrote:Four straight NFC North titles and eight in the thirteen years the division has existed.
The NFC North's nickname should be changed from "The Black & Blue Division" to "The Green & Gold Division" until someone else strings together a few first place finishes.

I'd argue that most of the worst teams in the last ten years have resided in the AFC, though. Look at the playoffs every year for the AFC, it's the same teams over and over again. When you have teams like the Browns that never, ever compete it becomes easier to have that kind of sustained success.

I would not equate the Pats sustained winning to that.Orpheus wrote:I'd argue that most of the worst teams in the last ten years have resided in the AFC, though. I didn't equate it to that, just said it makes it easier. Look at their division--Bills, Dolphins and Jets have all been really bad for large parts of the Patriots last decade. It certainly helps.

Re: The Green Bay Packers
When you win the division, that means you play a harder schedule the following year, making it more difficult to rack up more wins. Hence, all of those Brady-Manning regular season match-ups.Orpheus wrote:I didn't equate it to that, just said it makes it easier. 1) 14 of the 16 games aren't determined by where in the division you finish.Coach wrote:When you win the division, that means you play a harder schedule the following year, making it more difficult to rack up more wins. 2) Most teams are never the same the next year as they were the last.
In sum, there's a lot of luck involved in strength of schedule.

It cracks me up when Rodgers does the Shooter McGavin after a TD.

Rooting hard for the Pack today. Too many friends and family are Cowboys fans. Last week was tough enough for this Lions fan.
