Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery - about 2/3 of this movie holds up!

Felt like some popcorn junk, so I rewatched Deep Blue Sea and Lake Placid. Utterly weightless, of course, but lots of fun. We need some R-rated, decently-budgeted monster movies again.

Finally saw Nebraska. Most of it was filmed about an hour from my hometown. I enjoyed many of the little things and remarks throughout. The choice of black and white was odd though.

Me too. That area of the Midwest balances the line between beautiful and depressingly sparse so well. I wanted the full color treatment.BurtReynolds wrote:I kinda wanted it to be in color.Monkey_Driven wrote:Finally saw Nebraska. Most of it was filmed about an hour from my hometown. Yeah it felt smaller in black and white than I think it should have.Monkey_Driven wrote:Me too. That area of the Midwest balances the line between beautiful and depressingly sparse so well. That's exactly why B&W worked so well in the film.Monkey_Driven wrote:That area of the Midwest balances the line between beautiful and depressingly sparse so well.

A color version exists and was recently aired on TV. I forget which channel, I think it was EPIX or something.BurtReynolds wrote:Yeah it felt smaller in black and white than I think it should have.Monkey_Driven wrote:Me too. I didn't get the beauty with the black and white. Just sparse drabness. Agree to disagree I suppose.turned2black wrote:That's exactly why B&W worked so well in the film.Monkey_Driven wrote:That area of the Midwest balances the line between beautiful and depressingly sparse so well.

Would Godzilla be improved if it were shot in black and white?
