Re: 2013 NFL Draft
I least don't think they should go QB, i don't think Alex smith is the greatest, but they just gave up a 2nd for him, so they shouldn't use their first on the same positionelliseamos wrote:they should go OT.Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:You thinking kc might still take him at #1?durdencommatyler wrote:I need some new perspectives. Re: 2013 NFL Draft
if this talk of the Bucs wanting to draft Tavon Austin at 13 isnt just a ploy to try and get someone to trade up with them to get him and they do take him, i may shoot myself
as i mentioned in the mock draft thread, i can see the Bucs taking Tyler Eifert at 13 and though i know they need help on the D WAY more then they need anyone on offense, TE is actually a position of need for them, so id be ok with it and hope they do some good work on the D in rounds 2 and 3, but if they take a WR when they have a solid #1 and a solid #2 and 3 or 4 good options for a slot/#3 guy then i will be pretty upset, they are not a team that can make a Luxury pick this year, i want BPA but i cant see a small fast WR being BPA at #13

What did you think about the rumor of the Jets forcing the Bucs to get Sanchez and his salary dumped on them as a condition of acquiring Revis?

Re: 2013 NFL Draft
i cant decide on that, im not in any way a Sanchez fan, but i do think he has had a bad situation with the mess that is the Jets organization. if he was thrown in as a way to help them with a bad salary situation and he would come in, restructure his contract and be the competition that Schiano wanted to get for Freeman, then it wouldnt be the end of the world, the Bucs have Tons of cab space, but i would hope it would be a benefit for the bucs and actually make the price a little cheaper, it wasnt said what year they would be for, but the latest ive heard was the bucs were willing to part with a 1st, 3rd and 5th, and to me that is WAY to much to give up for a team with lots of holes, my opinion is this years 1st is plenty, but if it turned out to be revis and sanchez for this years first and next years 3rd or somehting then i wouldnt flip out, maybe while they are adding players, the bucs could send them Blount and get back a 4th or 5th rounder this year as well.Green Habit wrote:What did you think about the rumor of the Jets forcing the Bucs to get Sanchez and his salary dumped on them as a condition of acquiring Revis?
in the end though, if the bucs do get Revis, i hope they have plans to fill in other problem areas other then through the draft since its seems like they will have to give away the farm in this deal, my current preference given the supposed current price tag would be for the bucs to keep their picks, make some moves in the draft, either up for Milliner or down a bit and still get Rhodes/Trufant or someone like Eifert and pick up another 3rd or possibly a late 2nd and grab some of the other CBs DEs/DTs and maybe a 3rd or 4th round CB and see where they are come draft time next year. and Revis could still become a Buc in Free Agency next year

Re: 2013 NFL Draft
Fuck Goodell. That is all.
No wait. I hope the Saints go D with their first pick. They'd better. Switching to a 3-4 Defense it would be wise to go with a linebacker. Jarvis Jones may just land at the 15 spot and I'd have no complaints if they took him.
No 2nd round pick this year (fuck you Goodell). But in the later rounds they need to pick up a solid left tackle and groom him as they always do.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft
He's small, I'd be worried about his durability, but then again so is Welker and a bunch of other guys.
The Saints will probably be able to select Austin at 15 if they choose (they really need to go D though). If they added Austin their offense would go from dominating to nuclear powered. I can only imagine Sean Payton drawing up plays with Austin at his disposal.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft
I don't know that I like Austin for the Saints since they already have Lance Moore as their speedy little slot guy. They really need someone to run the deep routes that Henderson and Meachem used to focus on. One of the reasons they struggled a little bit last year is that some of their players on offense were definitely "miscast."

We also have Nick Toon at receiver. He was injured last year. The guy has potential. Joe Morgan showed a few flashes last year too. But yeah they need that deep threat, Henderson is getting up there in years, he's lost a step.Orpheus wrote:I don't know that I like Austin for the Saints since they already have Lance Moore as their speedy little slot guy. We're talking about the same Tavon that scored a 7 on the Wonderlic, right?

Don't know if you're being serious or not, but the wonderlic has no positive correlation for performance except for TEs and has a NEGATIVE correlation for DBs. Basically, it's a way to embarrass young black men for no reason.durdencommatyler wrote:We're talking about the same Tavon that scored a 7 on the Wonderlic, right?
