Haven't watched Trailer #3 yet. But so far, I'm hopeful.

Honestly, they've taken the only angle available that MAKES him interesting. The orphan who can't go home, who can't ever just be one of us, who wants to be accepted and yet cannot help but be guided by the one thing that makes him the most different. A little like Spock, in that his seemingly disparate combination of isolation from and intense loyalty to the people around him, and his inability/unwillingness to communicate those feelings, is the bedrock of his ethos.

That, and his ability to look like Don Draper in footy pajamas.
