funny thing is that last year when it looked like there was a chance Reigns could beat Batista everyone was loving Reigns.
Live crowds these days are filled more with people who read all the dirt sheets and stuff like that then people who go in with no knowledge of what is supposed to happen, so when somehting like Batista last year showing up after 4 years of being gone and immediately being put into the title match at Mania, or this year people knowing pretty much since the Shield split that Reigns is planned to be the next mega star, and though he has some potential he definitely isnt ready, so being forced on everyone when they want someone else to be the guy, they decide to shit on it

right. that is what is so baffling here - there are plenty of ways to get to your endgame without having the crowd shit on everything, and yet they chose the path where the crowd would not just shit on everything, but would elicit vocal diarrhea. way too long a stretch from the point bryan was eliminated until the crowd had something to get behind (mizdow, i think in the early 20s, was the first time the crowd became excited about something post-bryan), and then when they did, it was short lived. ziggler, after his survivor series showing, especially could have used more time to re-energize the crowd. reigns winning was going to get booed pretty much no matter what happened, but wwe certainly could have tempered the reaction with smarter booking there.

yeah, but the crowd would have loved x-pac if it meant batista not winning. the crowd was indicting batista, not endorsing reigns. and maybe in some strange way vince took that as they were endorsing him.

They've just telegraphed the winner of the Rumble for the last three years, so there hasn't been much reason to stick around for the end. Last night's event also lacked many memorable spots, and Bryan's quick elimination made the crowd rebel.
it definitely did lack memorable stuff, i watched the one i think from 2007 earlier in the day because i hadnt actually watched it before and the wife watched with me and loved it, so when i joked around later in the evening asking her if she was pumped for the Rumble she said she actually was because she expected a fun match like that one, but she was definitely bored with last nights match.
i like reigns. this isn't his fault (mostly). i feel bad for him to be placed in this role when it is obvious to anyone with an eye and a brain that he isn't ready for this yet.

i really hope it is Vince trying to book this stuff and not HHH, eventually Vince will be totally out of it and if this is HHH not listening to what the fans want then things will be bad for a long time.
im interested to see how they start trying to spin this, will they go into panic mode and change the plans now that not even the Rock could get Reigns over with that crowd? or maybe try turning Reigns to make it seem like the boos are for him being a bad guy? i kinda figured people would be over Brock by now with him hardly ever showing up, but he got a pretty big pop pinning Rollins last night, so im sure Reigns pinning Brock at Mania will get a worse reaction then him winning the rumble last night. though a Rollins cash in right after would at least end the night in a good way, but it will be a brutal match up until that point if its just Brock vs Reigns with all signs pointing to Reigns winning

im with you completely right there, he has the size and the look, he needs more work and to feud with some people that can teach him to have good matches, and for the love of god he needs to do better promos, i liked him better when he seemed cold and monotone
The triple threat match was incredible. One of the best matches in a long time in WWE. That moonsault from Rollins was badass. I had my reservations when he turned on the Shield but he keeps getting better and better as a heel.
The Rumble itself was up and down. Some thoughts....
Wyatt looked like a fucking beast. I can't say enough good things about him. Great worker and hi charisma is just top notch. I am surprised he hasn't organically turned face. Folks love him. It would kind of derail what his character can do so I'm glad it hasn't happen. He did an amazing job bumping and selling for Bryan when it was just the two of them in there. Those two have fantastic chemistry together.
I agree that Bryan must not be 100%. Hence the early number and hence the early elimination. I wanted him to win the Rumble as he is my favorite current wrestler. I was ok with him not winning though. Things like the Rumble, Money in the Bank, back in the day King of the Ring, etc....those things are used to elevate superstars. Bryan is already a top flight main eventer. He is as over as ever.
How fucking strong is Cesaro? Damn. He swung Dolph around like he was a 5 year old. I don't understand why Cesaro is not utilized properly.
I popped stupid hard when Bubba Ray came out. The damn Dudleys were one of my favorite tag teams. Also, hard not to love DDP. Guy got into the game late. I wanna say he didn't start wrestling full time until he was like 32-33? I'm an old fuck so I remember when he was a manager in WCW. Hope he gets the Hall of Fame nod. I assume Jake Roberts would induct him if that is the case. I was disappointed there were no NXT guys. Sami Zayn should have been in the Rumble, Kevin Owens should have came out of the stands and eliminated him and this should culminate at Mania. Oh well.
Oh Reigns. I don't get the massive hate for him. I'm kinda indifferent about Roman. It's obvious he is not as over since he came back from injury. I like the guy and there is lots of potential there but he is not ready to main event Mania in a 1 on 1 match. Hard to deny the look he has and he is actually a decent worker. I was ok with him winning the Rumble IF Rollins had won the title and Ambrose weasels his way into the title match. For months now I have been wanting to see Rollins vs Reigns v Ambrose at Mania. For the title would be even better as that would catapult all 3 of those guys no matter the outcome. But Brock v Reigns does nothing for me. Especially if Reigns goes over. So Brock ends the streak, destroys Cena and then jobs to Reigns? Ughh. I just don't see it. I am holding out hope that Rollins cashes in. They were pimping Brock on Raw on the post Rumble show. Maybe Rollins cashes in tonight? One can hope.
As murky as the Mania picture was before the Rumble it's even more so now. So what will Bryan do? How about Rollins if he doesn't cash in before Mania? Maybe we will get a Rollins/Bryan match for the breifcase? Give them 20-30 minutes and you get one of the best Mania matches in a long time.
If Rollins doesn't cash in before Mania he needs to cash in AT Mania. Which is something I always wanted to see. Brock can retain over Reigns and Rollins cashes in and aligns himself with Heyman to end Mania. Makes sense as Brock contract is up the night after Mania....at this time anyway. With the great reception the triple threat is getting I could see Rollins cashing in (like tonight) and the main event being Rollins v Brock v Reigns at Mania. That is actually much better than Brock v Reigns.

Rollins.. can't be champ soon enough.. dude is a beast in the ring and he does an incredible job with making his character look like a complete dick
i think Brock could have some legit broken ribs, i think Rollins slightly overshot and came down with all of his weight on that elbow. im sure the plan was to have Brock down and seem like he was out then all the sudden pop up and get the win but i think he really did get hurt
so apparently Raw is canceled tonight and tomorrows Smackdown taping will be canceled as well due to a bad snow storm. i wonder what if anything they will air tonight

Very few crowds wouldn't have fallen for it though, that's why I was happy.
I don't get it, obviously they knew Reigns would get booed because the entire match was booked around trying to stop that. Eliminating Bryan before Reigns was in, the beat down from show and Kane, rusev coming back at the end, The Rock, all of that was done to get the crowds reaction to Reigns to not look as bad. My point is, if you have to go through all that, isn't that a big enough hint that he shouldn't win?
