Favorite Post-apocalyptic/Dystopian movies
Probably one of my favorite genres of film. In no particular order, here are some of my favorites. (I don't include the "aliens have destroyed the earth" movies in this genre)
Mad Max series
The Road
A Boy and his Dog
The Quiet Earth
The Day
Land of Doom
Terminator
Terminator: Salvation
12 Monkeys
The Colony
Snowpiercer
Five
When Worlds Collide
In the Year 2889
There are many more, but just to get the conversation started.

Also, at the recommendation of LV, I watched "The Divide" last night.

Does Children of Men count? I really like that movie. 12 Monkeys as well.

I think if I were more into movies this would be my favorite genre.
I might watch Brazil again tonight.

One that I struggle with is Book of Eli. While I didn't like most of the acting except for Oldman, I absolutely loved the visuals and the score.

Also, I didn't mind Automata, even if LV hated that one.

Where's T2? It's the best of the series.

Yeah that is good too. The only one I don't really like is T3 and probably the new Terminator coming out.Kaius wrote:Where's T2? It's the best of the series.

Re: Favorite Post-apocalyptic/Dystopian movies
28 Days Later (Though it's been a long time since I've seen it.)
Day of the Dead
La jetee
Land of the Dead
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
Planet of the Apes
Resident Evil: Extinction
The Terminator
The Time Machine (1960)
The Ultimate Warrior (Have you seen this, Ruddo? It's pretty badass.)
Waterworld
World without End
There are lots of interesting movies in this genre that I don't think are completely successful, so they don't make the list. A lot of movies in this genre (especially lately) tend to be very cynical, which I'm not into.

Yes, I have. I'm not sure what to think of it. I liked it but it was certainly different.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:has anyone seen the zero theorem?
