A sub-10 hour finish at my next race should place me top 10 and that's just 12-minute miles, so I'll be happy to drop speed to increase miles. Probably hit the indoor track tomorrow.
I googled "CT indoor track" and the vehemence shown in the first thread was ridiculous, can't say a morning run during ice showers this morning would have been a safe choice.

Last week was my first pulling double duty, two mile run home then planned training run three hours later following one of Higdon's plans. Took the week as a preview week but the schedule works out fine and my legs seem plenty up to the task. New shoes are working out very well, as they've certainly been put to the test.

5 a.m. run with a nasty hangover after 3 hours of sleep. Felt surprisingly good. Although I'm sure I'll feel like death this afternoon.

Had been debating doing a Marathon that's coming up in May, but really don't think I have the time to put in the training for it - so I'm going to opt for a 10km fun run next month along the Wellington Shoreline

I don't wanna push you or anything, but that's plenty of time to train for a marathon. If I remember correctly, you are already in pretty good shape.

It's just I don't think I have the free time to get into proper running shape - I'm doing MMA two nights a week, squash one night at least most weeks, and gym time is mostly weights - I'll probably look back and wish I had done it, but just don't think I have the time to commit. I am going to at least do half of the marathon with a friend that's running it to keep them motivated

Been running every other day for about 2 weeks now. In that time, I have run three times with my tri friend and have actually been enjoying spending time with another human-being while running. I'm getting soft.

Been logging running miles every day Monday through Saturday with some trail miles and cycling on Sunday. Thought the outdoor mile streak was in danger due to a nasty fuckin' cold last week but it passed thankfully. 5.2 miles in to town and back today, chose hiking boots with all the snow... glad I did but damn they're heavy, especially after getting soaked.

Been scouting for another CF Xtreme Hike but with my current life situation I doubt I can fit in the fundraising efforts and training hikes. The Mass/RI chapter released what their plan is and I can get some additional info from them so my hope is to get some friends together (beyond the one that has already signed on) and do the same trek in August. I tend to plan Guy's Vaca Days every year but this is a much larger endeavor.

I also dropped to 13th in my Winter Warrior Challenge, definitely shooting for some double digits tomorrow.

11.53 logged today... now sit at 15th damnit.

Legs felt good with the first halfish hiking and the second a run to the shore, I couldn't have really asked for more. Tuesday is going to blow but I've got the snowshoes prepped for some use.

Decided to ZipLoc my phone just in case, glad I did:

Broke my 8-minute miles promise and ran 10 miles in 71 today. Felt good to pick up the speed a little. Hills tomorrow.
May head up to Payson this weekend and run some of the Zane Grey course.

Winter Warrior Challenge is over, ended up finishing eleventh overall. 252 people in total participated but our OutRunCF Group kicked series ass besting the next largest team by over 1200 miles. What I did find surprising that only six people were in the gold category (5+ miles a day) I was fourth. Feeling a bit of my 14.82 miles from Saturday, hard ground is definitely not my favorite surface. Now time to focus on April.

Was gonna hit Payson this weekend, but got a headcold on Friday. So I just did 10 on Saturday and then my half marathon route on Sunday. Both runs with kids in the running stroller. Sunday's run was in a bizarre thick (like couldn't see 20 feet in front of you thick) fog, which was fun.

What pace would you keep under these conditions? That's some impressive self-discipline.

Ugh, when we had the streak going last year I ran after a proper night out for a wedding. Good lord was that awful, hit my minimum and ran straight to the bathroom. That being said my drinking has significantly decreased in the last year, especially around the running.

A day of rest followed by a day full of shoveling has me kind of missing the streak; I never knew there was a legit running streak deal so, I'm feeling tomorrow will be the first 365 before I can actually fill out the form to participate.

Indoor track last night. Ran for 2 hours. Work from home day today, so I may sneak out for a trail run.

7 to 7:30 miles. Sweating out a hangover is pretty standard for me, as is running on little to no sleep. I'm an insomniac.

I've been drinking a lot less purely because I don't need that extra hurdle in front of me when I head to the gym. I don't really care about the lasting effects on my mind or body, I just care about enjoying my workouts and runs.

Well surely, had quite a few changes in the last year; but alcohol never helps a workout or run, period. I've also switched from morning exercise to evening, so time constraints aid in not cracking a brew. When I competitively powerlifted it was actually during a dry phase, can't imagine I would have been as successful had that not been the case.

I read that in Hitchens' voice. Then exhaled in a burst through my nose.

up at 3am (work stress really peaking...)
On the road at 4:15, 25 degrees, moderate winds
What a glorious 5 miles in the still and quiet of the early morning. a perfect example of how much a good run can do for your mind.

15.5 miles in 2:01 on Saturday. Ran with a group of 4 others on the trail that the Javelina Jundred is run on. With 5 miles left we said, "Go!" and raced to the finish. Me and another dude were neck and neck with about a mile left and I started to fade. With a quarter-mile left, I could see him and see that he was starting to fade as well. Tried to catch him, but simply had nothing in the tank. He beat me by less than a minute. Losing to a dude in Hokas is the fucking worst. Fuck you and your goddamn clown shoes!

10 miles on Sunday.
