But seriously... in his best season he had 6.8 fWAR. He would have been a perfect lefty to add into a rotation. Then I saw he had 3.62 K/9 that year and got scared off. I know it was a different era, but the only pitcher who had a higher fWAR was J.R. Richard, and he had 9.64 K/9.

It probably boils down to me over-analyzing... but I guess all of my pitchers have a shit-ton of strikeouts for a reason.

Steve Carlton did exactly what I'd expect the #3 overall pick to do today. Hunter wasn't terrible either, the offense just stalled in game two.
