I was a big Sid fan back in the day. I was really pissed when Hogan dragged him out of the 92 Rumble.

Re: Official WWE/Pro Wrestling thread
Hogan had a little craziness that Cena lacks. Sure he wasn't Warrior or Savage crazy, but he still had a little insanity that made his flag waving and "say your prayers and eat your vitamins" crap sound endearing.
Cena is just a generic boy scout.

Hogan when he was in Japan could actually go in the ring pretty well.

Yeah watching some old Hogan matches back it was like wow this got over so much. No wonder he ducked Flair for so long in the ring. Flair would have worked circles around him.

I watched the Austin/HHH podcast today, and I honestly agreed with everything HHH said about the business. I can't wait for the day he takes over.

At least Cena puts forth a good effort in the ring, I have legit never seen a good Hogan match. I've seen ones where the other guy carried him to something adequate, but I've never seen a good Hogan match.BurtReynolds wrote:Hogan had a little craziness that Cena lacks. I did agree with most of what he said. Trips is kind of an assbag but he knows the business well and I like his vision.numbers wrote:I watched the Austin/HHH podcast today, and I honestly agreed with everything HHH said about the business. I can't wait for the day he takes over.
Austin lobbed a lot of softballs up at him.

He asked him about Punk, Chyna, and how being married to Steph has benefitted his career. When was the last time he had to answer questions like that?

Yeah good point. I did like his response about Chyna. HHH sells the products very well.numbers wrote:He asked him about Punk, Chyna, and how being married to Steph has benefitted his career. When was the last time he had to answer questions like that?
I wish there was more Punk talk about killing his push in 2011. Punk is such a pulverizing and popular figure. People wanna see him and HHH played a big role in pushing him out.
I also kinda wanted to hear more about the curtain call. Good interview nonetheless. I love Austin's podcast.

Well, he basically said it was Vince's call to put him over Punk. Not saying I believe him, but he answered it.

True. Oh the shady stuff of wrestling. Maybe Punk isn't totally truthful either? Who knows.numbers wrote:Well, he basically said it was Vince's call to put him over Punk. Not saying I believe him, but he answered it.

This is the Savage mark in me but the match with Hogan at WM5 was good. Carry job by Savage.

Except that for some reason the video is stuttery as all hell in Chrome.

Despite not watching a lot of wrestling for years, I somehow caught Cena's earliest fights, before he had a gimmick. I thought for sure he was destined to be a Norman Smiley type jobber who would get destroyed every week. He got crushed in that match.
Imagine my surprise when I found out later he was the champ.
