Just because it's been around longer and more people believe it, it doesn't make it any less crazy - just more dangerous. If Scientology survives as long as Christianity, you know what people are going to say about it? "People have been believing those stories for thousands of years. Scientology, on the other hand, is very clearly a load of bullshit made up by a con man. Someone being a Christian doesn't make me lose respect for them, but someone being a scientologist does.

Like you just admitted, you understand/accept one over the other because it's been around longer. That's it.
