Personally, Goo would be the next album I'd steer you towards.

It was their major label debut, has a number of significant singles and is probably their most concise and accessible record (it's also super excellent).

"Goo" was my first favorite SY album -- others have eclipsed it over time but it really comes out swinging. And I think "Tunic" is fantastic.

There are still a few I haven't made it around to yet but this is kind of how their catalog breaks down for me:

Love:
EVOL, Daydream Nation, A Thousand Leaves, Sonic Nurse

Really like:
Sister, Goo, Dirty, Rather Ripped

Like:
Washing Machine, NYC Ghosts and Flowers

Has its moments:
Murray Street

Has fewer moments:
Experimental Jet Set, Trash, and No Star

Still haven't heard "The Eternal" or anything pre-"EVOL" unless you count the Smart Bar disc, which is a monster, if not for the faint of heart.
