I'm going to start doing the same thing soon. Yes 2 is probably the worst one ever. In the wrestling podcast I use to do with a buddy we did reviews of the wrestlemanias but we skipped 2 because it was so terrible.

I adore 3 and 4. Yes 4 is a massive clusterfuck but I find it to be entertaining.
I've never actually watched 2, is it worse than 9?

Yes worse than 9 and yes 9 is God awful. There have really only been a handful of bad ones. I found 29 to be pretty bad outside of Taker/Punk. Probably the 3rd best of the 3 Brock/HHH matches.

This thread picking up makes me happy.

I quite like 9, but to sort of skim through - I love a bit of ridiculous wrasslin' pomp and ceremony, but the matches are shit.

I feel like WM30 was one good Taker match from being the best ever. It definitely wins for WrestleMania moments - Austin/Hogan/Rock, The Streak, DBry overcomes the odds.

There's also a really good one somewhere in the 21-24 range, but I can never remember which one it is.

24 was fantastic. From 17-25 none of them were bad. They were all good or better.

30 was probably in the top 5.

For sure. Had the Taker match been better and Punk had beat HHH it would probably be the best of all time. Bryan winning the title and Punk coming back out to congratulate him as the show ended would have been perfection. That is just the old school RoH mark in me though.

It's funny how most of the best matches in Wrestlemania history took place as part some of the shittiest manias. Hart-Austin, the first Michaels-Taker, Benoit-HHH-Michaels, Punk-Taker... All 5 star matches on overall crappy shows.

I actually like 20 and 25. 20 also had Eddie/Angle which I find very underrated. But I see what you are saying. 29 is a total dumpster fire. Del Rio's face turn was laughable. The roster at the time of 13 was great with Taker, Austin, Bret, Mankind, Vader, Sid, Owen, Bulldog, HHH, Goldust, Rock, etc. But the booking was just awful at the time. HBK being "hurt" threw a huge wrench in their plans.

i watched Halloween Havoc 90 last night because i remembered all the talk about Windham coming out dressed as sting and taking the pin trying to get the Title on Sid, and man did they do a terrible job of showing what was going on :shake: on the broadcast they show Sting and Sid heading to the back, then a minute or so later they come back out and Sid gets the pin, and Ross is trying to make it known that it wasnt Sting but not doing a good job, then all the sudden the real Sting shows up and splashes Sid and pins him with no real explaination as to why the ref counted the pin. as they are going off air they show a replay of both Stings passing each other but before that there was no reason to know what was going on.

They should've taken Bo's gimmick farther...give him a submission finisher and have him yell "bolieve, don't give up" at his opponent while he has it on

yep, even had the Black Scorpion show up during Stings interview and "disappear" when Sting ran over to get him. i remember seeing Starcade 90 and being so Disappointed when it was revealed who was playing the Black Scorpion.

I've got the Network free for Feb - has somebody already asked what the top 5 essential WCW PPVs are?

Preferably something with Sting so I can give more than no fucks when he fights HHH.

I think it's a tossup. The announcing on 2 is atrocious and there's really only two decent matches, one of which is a pretty predictable battle royal. But 9...outside of the Steiners match the rest is bad. Hogan makes it even worse.

11 isn't a joy to watch either.

Are they really putting Rikishi into the hall of fame? It seems silly to get upset over the wwe HOF, but I could legit name 100 guys that should be in before him.
