Go vintage, buy these:

You won't regret it.

I have the A-50s. I was shopping for A-25s but I found someone on craigslist selling a pair of the a50s and jumped on that.

If my house ever catches on fire they're among the first things I grab.

I like those. They are pretty. I want
They sound amazing.
I hate how much shipping costs on eBay. Its the only reason why I don't own those or something similar actually. And when I shop for new speakers its too hard to narrow in on something that doesn't cost a billion dollars.
That's why I went with craigslist and drove to the dude's house.
Fuck it.... bought them. MONNEEEYYYY!!!

I saw some cool steel stands that are lower to the floor and tilt slightly back. I might look into those.

Is it the first cartridge you've installed? I have a Shure cartridge, and I thought it'd be as easy as plug-and-play...but it was a tad bit more complicated, what with the disconnecting wires and aligning the cartridge. I suggest a good pair of needle-nose pliers if Ortofon are in any way similar. Still not 100% sure how my alignment went, although it sounds excellent--just hope I'm not doing damage.

Getting the wires off the current cartridge was the toughest part for me--always felt like I was going to rip them apart, so be very gentle.

Huge upgrade to Pro-ject Debut for me a couple weekends ago. Quality is quite noticeably better. Also up to like 250 records; it's addictive as hell.

Awesome  I've got the "Portrait of a Legend" 2xLP, and the basic difference is that it's got all his gospel tunes. Even though I'm not into that in general, the dude's got soul.

I wish there was a reliable source out there somewhere for the release dates of the Nick Cave &TBS reissues (in the US). I've preordered a bunch but have no idea when half of them will arrive :-/
