Re: D3 Roundag: In Hiding vs. Pilate
Pilate. In Hiding, despite a nice prechorus (and being a lot of fun live) is a hugely overrated song. One of their worst mid-tempo anthems. Pilate's bridge isn't as good as everyone makes it out to be, but the song is still interesting and the chorus (unlike evacuation, which is strident and irritating) is fun.

in hiding doesnt seem that well liked here, but it has always been a favorite of mine. My favorite song from my favorite album, and probably top 5 pearl jam song.
Pilate is wonderful tho, It really hurts me to vote against it.

In Hiding has both very great moments and very, very, very cringe worthy moments.

If only any of the songs in the last 3 albums were written and arranged as thoughtfully as "In Hiding".

I can't fathom how anyone could vote for "Pilate" over "In Hiding".

It's a tough call, LV. 5 years ago I probably would have voted for In Hiding, but now I think I'm going to vote Pilate.LoathedVermin72 wrote:I can't fathom how anyone could vote for "Pilate" over "In Hiding".

I just don't get it. I've always considered "Pilate" to be a half-song, just a step above the likes of "Aye Davanita" and "Red Dot".tommymtcom wrote:It's a tough call, LV. 5 years ago I probably would have voted for In Hiding, but now I think I'm going to vote Pilate.LoathedVermin72 wrote:I can't fathom how anyone could vote for "Pilate" over "In Hiding".

The guitar work of In Hiding is superb. However, I find the vocal melody to be grating and the lyrics quite trite.

I want both songs to make it to the next round.
Also, yield deserves a winner this year.

In. Fucking. Hiding.
With all the hyperbole that gets thrown around (mostly by me), it seems sorta hallow, but In Hiding might legitimately be Pearl Jam's most underrated song.

Really? I thought it was a crowd favorite at their shows. MFC on the other hand, or No Way, or Thin Air, would fall more in line with underrated songs.durdencommatyler wrote:In. Fucking. Hiding.

That's probably fair in the grand scheme. I guess I meant underrated in the RM community.darth_vedder wrote:Really? I thought it was a crowd favorite at their shows.
