i joined around may last year and the first record i got was the JAGUERRA. i haven't been disappointed yet, though not all of the releases have been exciting (war on drugs, i'm looking at you). so far my personal favorites have been the madvillain and the ben webster releases. the ben webster was cool because they were able to get the label etched insteadof the usual sticker. it looks real nice.durdencommatyler wrote:Welp. that is the one thing about vmp- they find ways to make their issues unique. if it isn't a numbered, colored version, it could be something else like the ben webster. this months release is father john misty's new one, and vmp were able to get a clear vinyl variant for their issue. i just hope it isn't warped like the regular issues are experiencing... we'll see here in a couple days.

I saw they were doing FJM. That's part of the reason I sent the request. I'm hoping I can get in under the wire in time to snag that guy. I was going to buy it anyway.AndySlash wrote:i joined around may last year and the first record i got was the JAGUERRA. i haven't been disappointed yet, though not all of the releases have been exciting (war on drugs, i'm looking at you). so far my personal favorites have been the madvillain and the ben webster releases. the ben webster was cool because they were able to get the label etched insteadof the usual sticker. it looks real nice.durdencommatyler wrote:Welp. Tell them to activate your account right now and they will do it and send you father john. They did for me after I expressed disappointment.

For those of you who don't have the 2014 pressing of Time Fades Away: I'm so, so sorry.

I'm just going from memory, but I seem to recall that Tonight's the Night, Zuma, and On The Beach are all getting individual releases at some point--but that this was the only repress of Time Fades Away. I'll try to find a source for that.southp wrote:Any word on individual releases of those?Simple Torture wrote:For those of you who don't have the 2014 pressing of Time Fades Away: I'm so, so sorry.
Unfortunately, I unwrapped my boxset (bought on eBay) to find that the sleeves for TFA and TNN were not glued properly--or, actually, it looks like they weren't glued at all (did some Googling, I guess this was a common problem). Unfortunate for the price tag and unexpected given the quality of the other Archive/Original Release series releases. But so far, the records sound phenomenal.

Oh well. I managed to find the 24-bit HD audio and will make due with my original copy of Time Fades Away. But those archive releases are fantastic pressings.Simple Torture wrote:I'm just going from memory, but I seem to recall that Tonight's the Night, Zuma, and On The Beach are all getting individual releases at some point--but that this was the only repress of Time Fades Away. Unfortunately, at this pace, it's still a while away until I can finally get my hands on reasonably priced copies of Ragged Glory, Sleeps with Angels and Broken Arrow.
