Life Wasted is top 10. My Father's Son has that great bridge and is doing some pretty cool stuff, but the lyrics drag it down.

Is there a bigger gap between good music/bad lyrics than MFS in their catalog? I suspect not.

Life Wasted for being mediocre at both.

Tough one, My father's son might be the best song on lightning bolt, but Life Wasted has always been a fave.

MFS. Life Wasted is alright and everything, but MFS gives me hope that PJ won't just turn into an adult contemporary band as they continue to age. Plus, that groove is really good and Ed's growling vocals after the bridge seal the deal for my vote.

Went with MFS. Life Wasted has had a recent rebirth for me, but MFS has a life/energy/groove that grabs me every time. And the lyrics are fine. I think the opening nonrhyming couplet turns some people off, but not me.

I agree with this. I have always liked "Life Wasted" a lot, especially the bridge.
