There's even a chance we own two or three of the same albums, friend. We're not so different you and I.

verb_to_trust wrote:I think youre overreacting on SNC. As the vinyl 'fad' continues to mount steam we will see more hollow attempts from those looking to cash in. Thats certainly what I view this particular vinyl me thing as. I read through the list of albums they have issued...it reeked of something some dude in a tie goggle searched from his office.
Do you see how you were able to express this without implying superiority or knocking some personally for choosing to try it out?

And here I thought we'd made amends. Can't say I didn't try. Enjoy being better than everyone else, buddy.

Sweet dreams.

We've made amends. I've said my piece. I harbor no ill feelings.

I had a great time at my record store last night. Its not big but it has all the necessities. The guy looks identical to COmic Book Guy from the simpsons. Not as fat but the hair, the pimples, the vests, the super man t shirts and belt buckles. Its great. He is super good to me. Orders me anything i'd like. Always lets me out of the store with a couple free promo records he gets. Maybe a t shirt or something. I wish he had a used record thing going on but living in Vail probably makes it less plausible.

verb, you seeing the 'mats on this tour?

There's a really great record store in Dumbo of all places. I should spend more time there. They have a lot I'm unfamiliar with but looks really interesting.

SNC, you're in NYC, right? What are your favorite haunts?

I might try and go to the Milwaukee show. I don't really like the Riviera that much in Chitown. We'll see what the aftermarket brings in April or so. Which shows are you going to?

Yea, just Denver. Its not even sold out. Bothers me. If it was some stupid electronic jam band BS it would have been. Silly Coloradans.

Im holding out for a 5 night stand at First Ave in MPLS though.

I'm a bit more familier with Manhattan, but it seems every year another stores bites the dust. I'm still mourning Kim's, yet still do Other Music when I can. There's a used book store on Mercer, right by NYU, that has a great used section. A1 and Turntable Lab are still hanging on thank goodness. Rock N Soul too in Midtown. But my favorite might be the Academy on 12th.

In Brooklyn, I only knew of a handful. Again, the Academy that moved to Greenpoint is always solid. Heaven Street off Morgan Ave is nice, Permanent Records too.

Fantastic, man. Thanks. I'm so lame. I only know the obvious stores (Bleeker Bobs RIP and Bleeker St Music, yawn). This is awesome.
