This is a coin toss. Jeremy takes it as the VMA 92 performance affected me greatly. But Dave's hat play on Daughter is so damn nice.

Definitely "Daughter," if only for the improvisational vehicle it became for them in concert. "Jeremy" has held up well for a song of its stature, probably because for years they were sparing with how often they broke it out live -- a luxury not afforded "Even Flow" or "Alive" or "Better Man." But "Daughter" is quite possibly their most potent "hit" -- again, because contained within it is the possibility the evolve into so many other things.

Two of my absolute favourite Pearl Jam songs but I have to side with Daughter, the song that more or less hooked me into Pearl Jam.
