I don't know. As much as I would like to believe that Malick is always focused, it felt like this was the most uninspiring of his works. And if people already don't like Malick, then they REALLY don't like this one. But I like it a lot.

if we are honest we must recognize The New World as one of Malick's most substantial and impressive works.

Just finished John Dies At The End.
Wow...i mean, what the fuck was that? Its always the same with Don Coscarelli´s movies...what a mix of brillance, horror, comedy and wtf moments all at once..It just reminded me of how much i miss the Phantasm saga and how badly i want another one.

I'm a fan of the book, and I'm really looking forward to the flick.

well i havent read the book, im just a fan of Don´s movies, and i want to read it now, even if he has already said it is a tough book to adapt.
Also, im really used to his budgets and some people might find some of the fx here a little cheap.
To be honest i dont care that much, it just a good movie.

Chinatown. Liked most of it. the ending seemed forced and a little ridiculous.

My thoughts too. I was glad I watched it, but it's not something that will stay with me.

Certified Copy-A movie that got better and more interesting as it went along, culminating in a fantastic final few minutes. I liked Taste of Cherry better from the same director but this was good one as well.

Save the date...pretty bad. It was like they tried too hard on make a indie drama/comedy and forgot to tell a good story.
The main character is such a mess, and the boyfriend and ex boyfriend get into a fight and then talk echaother about how good she is?? thats so fucking bullshit.
Give me a real story guys...enough with scenes with beautiful characters talking about how " fucked up" they are while living in great huge houses and barely work...enough with that indie shit.
And the end..fuuuuck...just give me a fucking end already!!

The Public Enemy (1931) has to be one of my favorite movies. It's so far ahead of its time. Just brutal. And as Scorsese has mentioned, Cagney gave birth to modern film acting.

Can you please explain your analysis to the ending of Taste of Cherry? I didn't read any reviews, and maybe I should, but I really didn't care for my professor's interest in it. Maybe I have to see it again.

It's been a while since I've seen it. I just remember it being very beautiful. Are you talking more about the narrative ending or the pseudo-credits sequence that some people had issue with?
