Lowry is a good guard but his production and efficiency have been trending down lately, while Rose has mostly shown gradual improvement as the season has gone on despite the garbage outings here and there like the pistons game a few nights ago. Its true Lowry facilitates better, but I try to keep in mind that Rose plays with two of the best passing bigs in the league and has always been scoring guard first. The goal all along has been for Derrick to go into the playoffs playing his best basketball and I still think he can be on track to do that.Lament wrote:I'm a die-hard Bulls fan, but I'd rather have Kyle Lowry than Derrick Rose at this point. I think Lowry is a better facilitator, and he (to me at least) seems way less prone to shooting his team out of a game by continuing to chuck up shots when he's having a terrible game. When Rose is on he's very good, but he still has so many nights where he isn't and yet doesn't find enough other ways to impact the game positively.verb_to_trust wrote:Check back with me at the end of the year and tell me whether or not you would rather have Derrick Rose going into the playoffs instead of Jeff Teague or Kyle Lowry...

Re: NBA Thread
Again, Lowry was playing very good basketball at the beginning of the season but lately I've been seeing more of these type of games:
Kyle Lowry made 2-of-13 from the field for 11 points with one rebound, four assists and seven turnovers during a 98-76 loss on Saturday against the Rockets.
Does the extra rebound and 2 assists per game average really make him a better option than Rose. I suppose it could, but I'd still be interested to see how everyone feels about that at the end of the season.

I think the problem with Lowry is he shoots too much. That Raptors team has some weapons that are being under used in my opinion. None of them are amazing but Valacunias and Ross have not progressed from last season and I think it's in part due to Lowry trying to showcase himself.
