That's how much he put up in escrow when he signed the purchase agreement on his new house. The balance of the purchase price was put in a suitcase and slid across the table at closing.

Has anyone here installed crown molding? But not where the wall meets the ceiling. We are doing a decorative molding strip about a foot down from the ceiling. Do I just cut all the corners (inside and out) at a straight 45 degrees? That's what I did for the floor trim, looks great.

Pictures online show the top of the crown molding corners sticking out further, but I don't think that applies to my project.

Never installed it, but seems like it's just the same way? What do you mean by sticking out further?

"Coping the joint" seems like overkill.

We just had 135km/hr winds for nearly 24hrs straight plus over a foot of rain. Turns out the house is pretty good with just a few leaks on the roofing on the deck. Garden drainage is shite and the driveway cascades water through the garage.
