Is it a reissue? They were a pretty great, often underrated and forgotten band.Simple Torture wrote:That was, by far, my favorite song of the 1990s for years and years, but without an internet to Google the lyrics, I didn't know the name of the artist for years after I first heard it, and I don't think I heard the song until the early 2000s. It's been a while since I've listened to the whole thing, so I'm ecstatic to spin this (probably tomorrow).verb_to_trust wrote:She thinks she missed the train to Mars....shes out back counting stars....Simple Torture wrote:Some cool stuff has arrived in the past few days, but I haven't had a chance to listen to any of it yet. Yeah, pretty recent reissue. I've got no idea how it sounds, just bought it on a whim.

Re: The Vinyl Thread: Still Listen On Wax, Don't Use The CD
Probably a dumb-dumb speaker question, but I don't care:
I've always had speakers that have wire connections like this (and my receiver has connections that match them):

A few weeks ago my father gave me some speakers from his old system, and the connection in the back looks like this:

Will I need new speaker wire to connect these to my system? Will it even be possible to connect them to my current setup, do you think?

For those of you in the New York area with free time today, J&R is having an amazing overstock sale. A bunch of new records clearanced at $2.99. I picked up 10 albums today. Sure, there are a ton of copies of Aerosmith's "Room Full of Mirrors", but I managed a good killing, for me, anyway.
Hacienda - Big Red & Barbacoa
Buffalo Killers
Joseph Arthur and the Lonely Astronauts - Temporary People
The Corin Tucker Band
Ozomatli - Fire Away
Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova - The Swell Season
Body of War Soundtrack
The Hold Steady - Heaven is Whenever
The Heartless Bastards - The Mountain
Robert Randolph & the Family Band - We Walk This Road
I almost picked up the lone Mighty Underdogs album as well, but figured since I already had it on CD it was unnecessary.

Dusty Groove has a handful of today's releases available for online order. I just snagged the live Codeine record.

I was under the impression they will be releasing it on vinyl, yes. If not, oh well. Its not what I would categorize as a must own album in that format.
