Just blame stip for this.
I mean its right in line with how actual playoff end up sometimes ( e.g. any NFC South Team making the playoffs last year, NBA Eastern Conference ).

I personally have liked it. I think it opened up much more discussion and consideration for songs we may not have cared about otherwise.

There's a reason why we haven't cared about those songs otherwise.

I don't disagree. I think there is merit to comparing songs within an era to find some bright spots that otherwise would get little to no consideration. Parachutes is a prime example. I tend not to listen to it much because I rarely spin ST, even though I think it is a very good Pearl jam song. I would probably vote for Parachutes over songs like Last Exit or Brain of J.

I just checked the standings and for the first time ever I wished I had a second account. Faithfull is a lovely song but it shouldn't beat DtE. :shake:

Yep. One of these exits this round while one of Severed Hand or Parachutes will advance.

Guys, this isn't that complicated. The top 16 songs (the final 4 from each group) will then go into the winners tournament--both of these songs advance. So does given to fly and brain of J. Right now we are finishing out the best songs from each era competition. Then the top 4 from each era go against each other. I suppose seeding is currently at stake, but that's it

An additional advantage of this way is that when everyone wakes up full of regrets that faithfull may beat DTE they have a chance to make amends.

Plus if we did this the old way corduroy or last exit or immortality or tremor christ would have already knocked these two songs out.

DTE doesn't deserve this

It's not like it's a first round defeat. Ffs! It's gone far enough.
