What would an educated person in the field say are Nas's best albums apart from "Illmatic?" I have "It Was Written," "I Am," and "Hip Hop Is Dead." I think "It Was Written" and "Hip Hop is Dead" are both great, if short of classic; I find "I Am" to be more or less pretty awful.

Been listening to Hop Along in anticipation of their new album. I really love this band.

It Was Written and Life is Good.

Love Nas, but he has had production problems on his albums and just in general, the music and beats in his songs are far less compelling than his rhyming.

Stillmatic is a classic imo. Also, I'd rank the lost tapes right up there with I am or it was written.
