The finale definitely renewed my interest in this show.

Season 5 was by far the finest season they had as a whole. With the better comic material coming, it can only go up from here.

Is it coming? They're taking a detour, for sure.
Spoiler: show
Do you think Morgan's new found fighting ability and Bo staff means that Jesus won't be introduced?

Oh, I also really like Carl's new friend. Their scenes were not at all awful like I was prepared for them to be considering the potential. I hope they don't screw it up.

Kaius wrote:This season was better than the last two combined. Everyone bitches about the story feeling stale (which I think is some form of "this show sucks because it's cool to not like it), but they do very well with characterization considering how little screen time some of the main groupers get. Hell, Carol has gone from being one of my least favorite to favorite characters and I think as long as they don't get too tunnel visioned on only a few people, the next season could change my mind either way on several others. I think it would have been more interesting for Glen to kill that weasel, but we will see how it goes. I hope this Wolfpack or whoever the fuck is legit. Morgan made them look like rookies. I'm excited to see him back. It's quite interesting to think back to how Rick left him in season 3, and how they've changed to now.

I thought it was a good season ender. I'm not sure that Morgan will be in it much next season, he'll probably not like the way Rick is and leave. Plus, when Daryl and that other guy invited him back to Alexandria, he said no, he is on his way to somewhere. So I expect he'll only be in the first episode next season.

Is next season the last? Has that been announced?

Not that I'm aware of. I think I remember them saying they would eventually pass the comic and just keep going with some creative input from Kirkman.

I think Morgan is going to be around for awhile and play a critical role. I can't remember the significance of the map he handed Daryl with the note about the new world needing Rick Grimes. Was Morgan just prodding to see if he knew Rick or did he find the map with that note?

He was on his way to DC to find Rick. That was on the map - "the new world's going to need Rick Grimes" which was written by Abraham but found by Morgan in the church.

No.

No. Just a character that I like from the comic.

I know nothing about the comic, but I really hope The Wolves pan out to be a worthy adversary to the group. Their trap and foreshadowing of what's to come was one of the more intriguing things I've seen on this show in awhile.

Thanks.

I can't see how they would build up Morgan's return for an episode or two of involvement. My guess is he will be integral for at least the next half-season. If anyone can break through Rick's brooding anger side it's him.

Not sure, Lenny isn't a regular on the show, it hasn't been announced and I think he is in another show this year.

I don't see how you skip a character like jesus, it just not possible.
I think the wolves will be a replacement for the scavengers, another short time enemy like the hunters. By the end of the first half of the season. We will see the safe zone wall come down and the devestation that causes. Then the second half will build towards a season 7 with Negan.

Kirkman said before season 4 that we would see hybrid characters - 2 comic characters meshed into 1 TV character. This has not happened yet. We'll see.

Heavy spoilers
Spoiler: show
Next season should be the prelude to war. There is just too much material.
Wall falls
Jessie and son die
Morgan dies
Carl shot in face
Jesus introduced
Welcome to Hilltop
Dwight introduced
Negan introduced
Glenn dies
Abraham dies
Ezekiel introduced
Welcome to the Kingdom
Carl " captured"

This section is also Andrea heavy. Stuff like the wall falling didn't happen at the prison in the comic so I'm guessing it won't happen here again.

Those are spoilers from the comic book though, right? Those things aren't guaranteed to happen in the show.

Gimple's approach has beenv very heavy with comic content. I doubt that's gonna change now.
