Deshields seemed like a good pickup from the start. There's a good chance he doesn't amount to anything, but the upside is certainly there.

Agreed. Could go nowhere but he is athletic as hell and still only 22. He could blossom into a nice 2 hole guy.

And really, aren't all of us in search of a nice 2 hole guy?

Braves trade is genius. Sucks to trade a guy like Kimbrel but what good is it having a closer like that if you can't get him the ball. Also got out from under the albatross of the MelBJvin Upton contract. Saving ridiculous amounts of money. Also got a very good pitching prospect (Matt Wisler) and a good OF prospect. I wanna say they have like 4 picks in the first 54 picks in the draft. Good move long term for the Braves who are rebuilding anyway.

So the Braves save 46 million and change trading Melvin.

Go Hawks. That's the only team in town worth watching right now.

It's Andrelton Simmons highlights, Freddy Freedman and crickets

Its the right move long term of course

So far, the Cubs are demonstrating exactly why they aren't quite there yet. Lots of brain farts and execution issues.

There is a joke in there somewhere.

Keith Law also think the Angels should have fired Mike Scioscia and didn't think Ron Washington was a good manager so he is wrong a lot.
