Habs-Wings.... Detroit looking to clinch a spot, Montreal looking to claim 1st in the Atlantic
NYR vs. Sens.... Even an OTL Sens can jump into the final wildcard spot over the Bruins, while playing the Rangers who would be their 1st round opponents
Bruins vs. NJD.... I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm actually pulling for the Bruins to make the playoffs rather than the Sens. The term "lame duck" comes to mind.
Jets vs. Avalanche... Jets can clinch a playoff spot for the first time since the relocation
Flames vs. Kings.... a Calgary win with a Jets win would eliminate the Kings I believe.
The B's are actually in Florida tonight. Boy, do I wish they were playing the Devils.
Ouch. Didn't seem to matter.

Bummed UNO lost. Hell of a run by them. Recruiting hockey players to Omaha, Nebraska is no easy task.

Since North Dakota lost too I have no desire in the national title game tonight. :?

Heading to the Stars/Lancers USHL game in Omaha tonight. Pretty huge rivalry. A couple years ago in one game they combined for 192 penalty minutes and 10 ejections. Anyway, had to rock this......

On the same day that the Bruins die, there's a silver lining: PROVIDENCE FRIARS NCAA CHAMPIONS!

Game was on at the barn in Omaha last night. Glad BU lost. Providence goalie was an animal last night. Had some great saves in the 3rd. It was talked about with my hockey buddies last night that we might try and go to the Frozen Four in Chicago or Minnesota in 2017 or 2018. Especially if UND is in it. My buddy from Grand Forks was very grumpy watching the game last night.

Things are really changing in Toronto. The on-ice product has been abysmal, but from a management standpoint they've done everything right the last 3-4 months. This is a weird feeling.

Peter Chiarelli is fired in Boston after missing the playoffs for the first time in 8 years.

Meanwhile, Craig MacTavish, who is universally regarded as the worst General Manager in the sport, has run the Oilers into the ground for a decade, and has put together a team that shows no sign of improvement, keeps his job while referring to 2015-16 as "another developmental year" after 7+ years of rebuilding.

Chiarelli put them in cap hell though with his inclination to overpay grinders, I've got no problem with him getting the ax.

I have no problem with it, either. My post was more a comment on the hilarity that is the Edmonton Oilers.

Yeah, it seems like they've had the #1 pick every year for 10 years.

Yeah, it seems like they've had the #1 pick every year for 10 years.
The did the smart thing and took the Penguins/Blackhawks approach: bottom out and load up on high draft picks. Actually, they were even luckier than those teams because they picked first overall three consecutive seasons.

The only major difference is that, at this point in their development, the Hawks and Pens were celebrating a Stanley Cup win, while the Oilers are about to add another top-5 pick in preparation for another "developmental" year.

Its that special time of year when 'Hawks' fans come out of the woodwork and banter on some playoff hockey (get drunk on domestic beer and grow stupid looking beards)
