Consequence of Sound wrote: The Who’s Pete Townshend and Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder are teaming up for a one-off benefit concert in Chicago. Dubbed “Celebrating The Who,” the show will go down Thursday, May 14th at the Rosemont Theatre.
Joining the two iconic performers on stage will be Townshend’s brother, guitarist Simon, as well as various touring members of The Who: drummer Zak Starkey (also Oasis); bassist Pino Palladino (also Paul Simon, D’Angelo); and a trio of keyboardists in John Corey, Loren Gold, and Frank Simes.
The show will raise money for Townshend and Roger Daltrey’s charity organization Teen Cancer America, which supports programs for teenagers with cancer through the University of Chicago Medicine. Tickets for the tribute/benefit event go on sale Tuesday, April 21st at 10am at the Rosemont box office and through Ticketmaster.
Townshend and Vedder have performed together numerous times in the past. Below, watch the pair perform “Magic Bus” way back in 1999.

Probably be a longshot but I'm thinking of trying too, especially since it looks like no Pearl Jam show this year outside of the Latin America dates.spike wrote:going for tickets to this

What an honor for Eddie as a fan. You can see on his face when he talks about the Who it's like he is a kid again.
This would be so fun.

Not me. Nothing will top the Letterman performance. That era was the absolute pinnacle of Ed as a vocalist. Last thing I want is to hear modern day vedderisms ruin it.numbers wrote:I would love to get a ripping rendition of Heart To Hang Onto.

He seems to be more powerful with the one off performance covers of his heros though. At least compared to what he brings to the PJ songs. Could still be really great.
