Well, so much for that. Congrats, Ryan and JaMarcus, you'll never be the worst draft pick ever!Green Habit wrote:[Lawrence] Phillips is probably the worst that wasn't accused of murder.

is nobody excited for the draft? I feel like this is the first season we haven't had a draft thread. Personally, without a 1st round pick for the Bills, I am not that into this year besides the storyline of who goes first.

Yeah, I don't know what's going on, but for some reason I'm not as gung-ho about it this year as I usually am. Maybe that will pick up as we get closer to the draft and I do some more research.Mecca wrote:is nobody excited for the draft? I feel like this is the first season we haven't had a draft thread. Rivers to Tennessee?

Cole says Rivers would be thrilled to finish his career in Tennessee because the Chargers are not likely to pay him in a longterm deal. The Chargers get a youthful replacement in Mariota.

Or it could be that the criminal justice system failed her and now she has to rely on the civil front.Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:maybe its just me but i feel like this kinda proves he didnt do it and that she is just out for money, i could be wrong though.Green Habit wrote:Winston still isn't out of the woods yet.

also true, i definitely havent followed all that was going on with it, i should have been since its seemed for a while now that he is a lock for the Bucs, the only stuff ive really heard is that she sold her story to be made into a movie and now she is sueing him.Green Habit wrote:Or it could be that the criminal justice system failed her and now she has to rely on the civil front.Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:maybe its just me but i feel like this kinda proves he didnt do it and that she is just out for money, i could be wrong though.Green Habit wrote:Winston still isn't out of the woods yet.

Without speculating on whether or not she is actually a golddigger, one of my newish pet peeves is the assumption by many that seeking money as compensation for violence against women is a form of golddigging. I saw a lot of that awful commentary with the Greg? Hardy settlement earlier. Money may not correct the damage done, but it makes it easier to recover in some ways, such as having the ability to move away from bad memories and start anew.Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:also true, i definitely havent followed all that was going on with it, i should have been since its seemed for a while now that he is a lock for the Bucs, the only stuff ive really heard is that she sold her story to be made into a movie and now she is sueing him.Green Habit wrote:Or it could be that the criminal justice system failed her and now she has to rely on the civil front.Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:maybe its just me but i feel like this kinda proves he didnt do it and that she is just out for money, i could be wrong though.Green Habit wrote:Winston still isn't out of the woods yet.

The real dilemma that the NFL is going to face is if Winston settles the case. That's going to implicate some level of guilt for a lot of people, and the pressure to suspend will go up.

The other thing with the Golddigging element of it, at least in this case, is if this woman was just a gold digger and asking for money, don't you think that a booster connected with the FSU program would have just taken care of paying her to keep the whole thing quiet from the get go?

how long ago did this happen? again, i havent really followed anything about it, but if it was in the last 2 years then you definitely would think a booster would take care of it, unless there is already heat on the program for money reasons.@SkitchP wrote:Green Habit wrote:Without speculating on whether or not she is actually a golddigger, one of my newish pet peeves is the assumption by many that seeking money as compensation for violence against women is a form of golddigging. I just don't feel like either way I have enough evidence to have an opinion on it.

What if she wants more than they're willing to pay? And if that's the case, then we're definitely getting into gold-digging territory@SkitchP wrote:Green Habit wrote:Without speculating on whether or not she is actually a golddigger, one of my newish pet peeves is the assumption by many that seeking money as compensation for violence against women is a form of golddigging. She is asking for 15,000 dollars plus leave the punitive damages open ended for future determination.Fuck You Jobu wrote:What if she wants more than they're willing to pay?
