Well, that was a strange and not-terribly satisfying episode. I presume it ends up serving a 'getting from A to B' kind of function when considered in context of the whole season but it sure wasn't the immediate thrill that the series return was.

I would agree that the second episode wasn't as strong as the first. But there was a lot to dig one's teeth into. And it ended really strongly. The symbolism may have been a tad heavy handed, but the punch landed.

Don, alone and confused, among the tidy rubble of an unexpectedly empty luxury apartment... the end of an era, indeed.

Also, I wonder if that'll be it for Betty. I'd be okay with that. There was something powerful and pathetic in Don's over the shoulder glimpse at a life that wasn't his, though most of the individual pieces belonged to him.

Good for her getting her masters, too.

I thought it was a good episode. Just further illustrates Don's reality. And, in my opinion, sets up a not so happy ending for Don's story.

What a terrible thing to say to a parent immediately before getting onto a bus. "I hope someday to get on a bus and never see you again." And I'm not even sure Don deserved that....this time.
Sally at the meal was really interesting. It started with her kind of being another of the girls at the table in love with her father-the way she looked at him, the way she said "He always says that." And then she quickly remembered how disgusting he can be.

I really appreciated how this episode was like an anti-caper compared to some of the other "start a different agency" episodes. The Stan and Peggy scene was very strong too.
