maybe its just me but i feel like this kinda proves he didnt do it and that she is just out for money, i could be wrong though.
Or it could be that the criminal justice system failed her and now she has to rely on the civil front.
also true, i definitely havent followed all that was going on with it, i should have been since its seemed for a while now that he is a lock for the Bucs, the only stuff ive really heard is that she sold her story to be made into a movie and now she is sueing him.
Without speculating on whether or not she is actually a golddigger, one of my newish pet peeves is the assumption by many that seeking money as compensation for violence against women is a form of golddigging. I saw a lot of that awful commentary with the Greg? Hardy settlement earlier. Money may not correct the damage done, but it makes it easier to recover in some ways, such as having the ability to move away from bad memories and start anew.

The real dilemma that the NFL is going to face is if Winston settles the case. That's going to implicate some level of guilt for a lot of people, and the pressure to suspend will go up.

The other thing with the Golddigging element of it, at least in this case, is if this woman was just a gold digger and asking for money, don't you think that a booster connected with the FSU program would have just taken care of paying her to keep the whole thing quiet from the get go?
What if she wants more than they're willing to pay? And if that's the case, then we're definitely getting into gold-digging territory
She is asking for 15,000 dollars plus leave the punitive damages open ended for future determination.
And what dollar amount is that??

This isn't a money grab with Winston. The 15k is the minimum needed to file a civil suit in the state of Florida. It's simply a move to keep this story in the news right before the draft in an effort to cripple his draft stock. And no way in hell Winston settles out of court.

im not sure if others have felt the same way, but i feel like the potential ceiling is higher for Mariota but the potential floor is also way lower, Winston is definitely more pro ready and will most likely do a lot better right off the bat if they were both to become starters right away. i still wish there was a possibility that the Bucs would take Mariota because i like the person a lot better, but i know Winston will be the better fit right away.

I think Mariota is a lot more mature, I do wonder if he's going to be able to adjust to what he's seeing from NFL defenses when he's been throwing to mostly wide open receivers for years. I would expect whomever takes him to let him move the pocket and bootleg quite a bit, he's a gamer, I expect him to show up big on 3rd down and hold the ball way too long. I'm not quite sure how his game translates yet but I certainly don't think he's going to flame out quickly. I would imagine he's going to improve whatever team he goes to, be great in the community and generally be well liked.

Winston scares me with his maturity, but he's been pro style for a while now, he's got a big arm and he won where others failed for 15 or 20 years at FSU, the kid is ridiculously talented, I don't know what to say for the off the field stuff, he sort of reminds me of Ben Rothlisburger. It wouldn't surprise me to see him do some really dumb stuff and embarass the team but also win a Super Bowl.

With the Bucs weapons at WR, Winston just seems like a great fit to me.

Sounds also like Broncos/Lions might be the early Thanksgiving game. That'd be tough, but it might be worth it if an even tougher opponent follows on the next week.

The sources I read on that were wrong. Good news is that they get ten days to prep for Detroit. Bad news is that in order to create that they have a short week to travel to Arrowhead. :gomez: You should be excited for that Joey, I'm guessing that's when the Chiefs finally beat Manning as a Bronco.
