What movies are you watching?

Django is on-deck for me. Will probably watch it this weekend.

Just recently watched "Searching For Sugar Man", a documentary about a forgotten singer from the late 60's / early 70's who was huge in South Africa, but had no idea. It's a real interesting story. I'd give it two thumbs up and would highly recommend it to any fan of music docs.

I loved this...His song Cause is haunting and heartbreaking

I watched Django with my dad last night. I'm starting to enjoy hanging out with the crusty old bastard.

The movie was excellent, I went in prepared for a disappointing ending and it wasn't as bad as I though it'd be. DiCaprio played a great villain, Candy Land was a pretty horrifying place and I've seen areas in the 'Sip that look just like it.

I was ready for the movie to be over by the end though, it was a long one.

i didnt enjoyed Django....hell i dont even want to see it again. Tarantino is becoming obvious with his movies....everything is a referential parody and he is such a good director/storyteller a movie like Django feels pretty bad for his standards.

Di Caprio was awesome, but Waltz character doesnt make sense to me...and the ending was total bullshit.

I can agree. I didn't buy the Broom Hilda legend as Docs motivation. I dunno, I just rolled with it and found it enjoyable.

Much like debates over music I've just grown tired of picking things apart (unless it's something really shallow and tepid).

"Something from Nothing: The Art of Rap". Decent, if kind of quick.


"Starlet". Really enjoyed this.


"The ABCs of Death". Wildly uneven. Some shorts are okay, most are really bad. Ti West's is the worst.


"The Punk Syndrome". Strangely captivating. A lot of fun.


"The City Below". I thought this was awesome.


"Moon Man". A lovely little animated film. Got a great reaction.


"Turning". One of my new favorite music films.


"Paradise: Love". This was enjoyable. Wish I'd seen the other two films in the trilogy.


"Paul Williams: Still Alive". A really wonderful documentary about an incredibly talented guy. Loved this.


"The Breakfast Club". Was really happy to be able to see this on the big screen, with an audience. Still one of my favorite films of the 80s. I was surprised at how many people in the crowd hadn't seen it. Big laughs.

He does indeed have some great songs. I got 'Cold Fact' right after the doc, and I'm really enjoying it so far.

I would put Wes Craven in the sub Brian De Palma category. The first A Nightmare on Elm Street was fun, however.

De Palma is a better director for me...still, as a huge horror movie fan, Craven will always be one of my favorite filmmakers...but he has some really lousy movies too.

i love the first Scream...really love it. The snd and third were pretty bad, but they are fun to me...Shocker...yeah thats no good..

Speaking of De Palma, I do love Carlito's Way. Over the top acting...but it just works. Penelope Ann Miller is also gorgeous in this.
